Abbreviation, Acronym 的比較Abbreviation 是縮寫的統稱, 他有一種特性, 就是縮寫發音跟原字是一樣的. 像 St. = Street, Mr. = Mister, 且發音一樣.
Acronym 是取第一字母的縮寫, 並可以當單字發音. 像是 LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) 或是 AIDS 都可以念出來.
Initialism 跟 Acronym 一樣是取第一個字母, 但卻無法像單字一樣讀出. 像 OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) 須依序讀出字母.
